Summary of Our Project
The Philippines is considered as a third world country because it is behind in terms of economy and technology, as compared to other Asian countries, namely Korea and Japan. The citizens consider their leaders to be more on the negative side, but we can change that perception. We want to show you that leaders also have good actions, and that they can also be great models to us. The purpose of this project is to give awareness about the skills a great leader can have. It can also inspire the youth and gain information about the leaders who contributed a lot in the community. The administration, faculty, employees, and students of Saint Louis University with the government officials and representatives from the religious community and other educational institutions witnessed the investiture ceremony of Fr. Jessie M. Hechanova, on August 20, 2005. He is well known as a CICM and the sixth President of Saint Louis University. He is also the first Filipino citizen to hold the highest position in the University. His slogan, "A Mission to Transform," made a great impact in the University. Fr. Hechanova inspired us to know and understand what we can do to make a great change in our community. Our team will conduct an interview with the President of Saint Louis University to gather information about his works that made a difference in the school community. The students will be directly affected by this because they will conduct the interview. The citizens and the community are also affected because this project can inspire the people to be great leaders in the future. Lastly, the CICM is the institution that helped him make his endeavors possible. Interviewing the President helped us clearly understand on how we, in our own meaningful ways, can change the community.
