How did your activities and research for this Cyberfair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards ?
The school’s system allows us, the students to enhance our technological skills. Having access to computers, the school challenges us to learn more and apply whatever we have learned in our daily life. Our CyberFair project addressed two of the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for ages 14-18, namely to design a website that meets accessibility requirements and to model legal and ethical behaviors when using information and technology by properly selecting, acquiring, and citing resources. Some content standards for English were also addressed, namely to be able to speak and write well.
The project is beneficial because we have learned the strategy of our chosen leader, and the qualities of a good citizen. Leadership, public speaking, and people smart are some of the skills we learned. We were also able to master our intellectual skills and craft our socializing skills. Our views about criticism and negativity have changed because these newfound skills made us take the roots of prejudice since it helps us build who we are for the future. Many group concepts have also been practiced while accomplishing this project. We have given our own contributions by sharing our ideas.
To understand better diplomacy and international issues, one must be aware so as to provide solutions. We had learned about the leadership of Fr. Hechanova, CICM, and became ambassadors by gaining information.
We discovered the value of leadership. In our school, we try to make our system democratic and fair. With this, we believe a group with a just and responsible leader can promote innovation, teamwork, and cooperation.
In our generation today, we prefer the Internet for effective teaching and learning rather than the traditional method, because it contains a lot of information from different sources, and it saves time and also making work a lot easier.
